Welcome to King Edward Medical College Lahore.
King Edward Medical College was established in 1860 as the Lahore Medical College. It is the fifth oldest medical school in South Asia. The first academic building was completed in 1883. On December 21, 1911, Lahore Medical College was renamed King Edward Medical College in Honor of the late King. Mayo Hospital, Lady Willingdon Hospital and Lady Aitchison Hospital are the three affiliated teaching hospitals. Of these Mayo Hospital, established in 1871, is one of the oldest tertiary care hospitals.
King Edward Medical College and Mayo Hospital have served humanity for over 150 years producing and training eminent physicians spread all over the globe and providing free and state of the art care to millions. The faculty comprises of distinguished professors, specialists and eminent scholars committed to the highest standards of teaching, training, research and service delivery. The Latin phrase ALTAPETE, meaning” O seek the highest” is the college’s motto………
